Methodology
This document was written to provide a formalised structure for the development of applications and systems by Hammond Street Developments Pty Ltd (HSD).
In the early days of HSD, it was identified that in order for us to grow, we had to provide a consistent quality of service to our clients. The HSD Development Methodology is based on Lazinsky's iterative approach to software development using Rapid Application Development Tools. Lazinsky has authored many books on the development life cycle of software and his methodologies are widely used in the software development industry.
The HSD Development Methodology has been designed to provide: -
- Maximum user input into the design of the application
- A consistent set of documents that encapsulate and communicate all requirements of the application
- The minimisation of functional creep Stable and high quality applications that provide the functional and business requirements
- A flexible but consistent standard of application production
- A 'turnkey' strategy that allows HSD to manage human resources effectively
- Protection of our clients' intellectual capital
- HSD has now developed over 120 applications. Many of the applications are placed into production from user acceptance testing without any changes.
Methodology impact
We aim to lead the Next Generation of outsourced software solution development.

- Every member of our team, including senior management, has solid technical and business experience. While tertiary qualifications are highly regarded at HSD, our key requirement is that staff have a proven industry track record, an appreciation for commercial objectives and an understanding of the methodology and management of outsourcing practices.
Our commitment is to deliver quality services on time and within budget, but our goal is to always exceed our clients' expectations.
