HSD’s Dynamics Technical Consultant – Rohan Perera, shares with us a quick how to on connecting to Dynamics 365 from XrmToolBox.

XrmToolBox provide us with tools like ‘Plugin Registration’, ‘Early Bound Generator’ and many more to work with Dynamics 365/Dataverse efficiently. The best part is these tools being updated and can be used for the constantly changing requirements.

I think that when you are trying to login to Dynamics 365 with ‘Multi Factor Authentication’ (MFA) from the toolbox this information will help you.

  1. Start creating new connection and select ‘OAuth /MFA”

2. Provide environment information and click next

3. OAuth Authentication Configuration

a. You can decide to register your application in Azure AD with delegated permissions to Dynamics 365 and use the application ID generated as per this tutorial.

OR

b. You can use the following App ID and URL as they are or click on the “Use development Azure AD App” to use Microsoft’s app registration.

4. Add your email / Username and click next

Then login to the Dynamics 365 instance with your credentials.
