Firstly, I hope you and your families are staying safe during these trying times.

Following on from this week’s announcements from Victorian Premier with regards to COVID-19, I wanted to provide an update on how HSD are responding to newly enforced working arrangements.

As Victoria heads back into isolation, with strict stage 4 lockdown now in place, HSD’s Melbourne based operations are well positioned to continue our service delivery and general operations. The steps that we put in place when the pandemic first struck such as (but not limited to) remote working arrangements and collaborative tools ensures that we are still able to provide our services to new and existing customers. We will continue to support our staff as much as possible to ensure that their mental and physical well-being is preserved.

For our staff in other state offices, they will also be continuing with flexible working arrangements and will remain compliant with the directives of the respective state and territory Governments while supporting their Victorian colleagues as much as possible.

In addition, to ensure that continuity is maintained, we are ensuring that our staff are staying connected with each other and our customers through formal and informal meetings and video conferences and our Risk Committee is meeting on a regular basis to help the HSD Executive Team stay on top of all developments.

Although these are challenging times, I’m confident that the measures that we have put in place will see that HSD continue to meet the needs our customers but also come out of this pandemic a more stronger, flexible and resilient organisation.
